On the 13th of Jan.- Mrs. Margaret Ryker, second daughter of the late George W. SNYDER, veteran newspaperman of this city, sustained so severe a fall and shock at her home on College St. that she was removed to Culver union Hospital on the following Tues where she received the best medical care and attention. At first she was thought to be improving and her recover hoped for but after the 9th day she gradually grew weaker until the end came on Wed. Mrs. Ryker fell four years ago and her right hip was broken and she has been practically an invalid ever since. During this time she has been faithfully cared for and administered to by her sisters Mrs. Gertrude Beatty and Miss Mata Snyder and brother, John J. Snyder. one sister, Mrs. Laura Snyder Clark preceded her last June a year ago; Mrs. Gertrude Snyder Beatty d. suddenly 6 weeks ago. Thurs 3 sisters clasp hands on the brighter shore - inside of 20 months. A brother and sister survive. She is also survived by her nephews, Will Beatty of this city, Louis of Arkansas and Charles of Tenn. Mrs. Ryker was the widow of the late Capt. Will Ryker who was a grad. of Hanover College a soldier, member of the old fire department a prominent Mason, an elder and usher of the 1st Prebyt. Church. Mrs. Ryker was a life-long member of the 1st Presbyt. Church faithful, devoted and active until her illness four years ago. The funeral services was held at the Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon conducted by the minister, Rev. Roger Sillars. Misses Catherine Dick and Helen Eltzroth of the chorus choir beautifully rendered God Take Care of You and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere; with Mrs. Paulson at the organ. The pallbearers were Messrs. Symmres, Seawright, Winchell, Cory, Barnes and Moore. The floral offerings, contributed by dear friends and near neighbors were most beautiful. During her long illness she was remembered in every kind way by the Church and clubs and friends. - kbz
